In the run up to Chinese President Xi Jinping's September 2014 state visit to India, this paper looks ahead to whether the India-China relationship will become more driven by the personalities of the two countries' leaders. The author also examines 1) whether the China-India boundary dispute will be addressed by the two leaders; 2) how the countries could deal with issues related to regional developments and maritime security; and 3) how relations between the two countries may develop in the future.
