This paper examines the role of masculinity in the context of sexual and gender-based violence in Nepal. The authors find that young men feel huge pressures and frustrations finding their role in society and that this leads to physical and non-physical violence against women. They conclude by proposing recommendations on how to establish social, political, and economic conditions to encourage nonviolence and gender equality in Nepal.
