This issue examines three aspects of leftist political violence and terrorism. It includes articles on: 1) the Colombian governmental Peace talks with the Marxist guerrilla group Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC); 2) the emergence of militant leftist groups in Indonesia; and 3) a study of the successful counterterrorism measures taken against the Red Brigades in Italy in the 70s and early 80s.
