This paper presents the cases for and against rearranging ministerial responsibilities in the domestic security space in Australia. The first argument identifies fives reasons why change is needed and proposes a new ministerial rearrangement for domestic security. The second presents a case for the status quo, arguing that the National Security Committee of Cabinet (NSC) is more important in ensuring coordinated security policy than the division of responsibilities among its ministers.
