This report uses Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Sudan as case studies to illustrate the physical, social, economic and developmental impact of anti-vehicle mines (AVMs). More specifically, the report provides 1) a general background on AVMs and the legal frameworks that define their use; 2) an update on how these mines are presently being employed, to include their related casualty data; and 3) recommendations on how to mitigate the negative impacts of AVMs.
