This brief discusses the important role of defense exports and defense diplomacy for India as part of Prime Minister Modi's "Look East" foreign policy. In particular, the author examines India's arms transfers to Vietnam as an example of how India is using military exports as a way of furthering Delhi's foreign policy and strategic interests.
