This policy brief looks at available options for the mid-term review of Europe 2020, and addresses the question of how to make the most of Europe’s growth strategy. In particular, the paper: 1) contains a brief description of the Europe 2020 strategy, as well as the results achieved as of March 2014; 2) discusses possible changes to the substance of Europe 2020; 3) addresses the governance of the strategy, and in particular its basic architecture and existing arrangements to ensure that EU institutions and member states adopt it as a ‘pole star’ when deciding on their annual reform plans; 4) discusses options for placing the strategy at the core of the EU project.
