This commentary discusses the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victories in the national elections in 2014 in Maharashtra state and Haryana state in India. The author argues that while the party's performance is a testimony to the Indian Prime Minister Modi's popularity, it is also important for the Prime Minister to have as many BJP-ruled states as possible in order to realize economic reforms.
