This paper addresses the phenomenon of online radicalization, specifically the use the Internet for promoting radical Islamic worldviews. The author outlines a radicalization model specific to the online realm, depicting how individuals move from mainstream thinking towards violent extremism. He then proposes operational countermeasures for the US, including a system of identifying influential online personalities and embarking on a system of discrediting their ideas.
