This paper is a transcript of a speech by Professor Robert P George, Chair of Jurisprudence at Princeton University, in which he shares his reflections on why he believes religious freedom matters and what the landscape for religious freedom looks like across the world. In particular, he highlights the rise of violent religious extremism, the persecution of Christians, and the resilience of anti-Semitism before going on to discuss what is being done about religious freedom abuses around the world.
