This paper provides an overview of the discussions about integrating a masculinities perspective into peacebuilding policy and practice. The authors examine existing INGO programs that promote non-violent and gender equitable masculinities and challenge the gender norms which drive conflict and insecurity. They then offer a list of recommendations to international donors, policymakers, national governments and peacebuilding organizations on how to include the use of new approaches that challenge masculine gender norms as part of their peacebuilding activities.
