This brief highlights the advantages of greater maritime security cooperation between Australia and Indonesia. More specifically, it 1) identifies the common maritime interests of both countries, such as people smuggling and illegal fishing; 2) makes the case for greater cooperation and increased national and regional capacity-building; and 3) describes the suggested scope for further joint security cooperation between the two countries.
