This commentary discusses the implications of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and North America for EU food standards. The author gives a background on the EU's previous negotiations over food security and standards in trade through the WTO regulatory framework. She then outlines the transatlantic differences in food standards between the EU and the US and provides tips on how some of these could be overcome.
