This commentary discusses the efforts that have been undertaken by ASEAN and its member states to develop sustainable and more environmentally friendly power supplies as well as the challenges involved in the expansion of renewable energy sources. The authors also outline what ASEAN member state governments should do to create an environment in the region that can further the development of renewable energy.
