This monograph examines Malaysia's 2013 general election and the factors that affected its result. Among other issues the authors examine 1) how the two major ethnic groups in the country, Chinese and Malay, voted in the elections; 2) the nature of the political campaign during the election; and 3) the role played by religion and race in the election. The authors also examine how politics in Malaysia is changing and what this might mean for the future of the country.
