This publication reviews the lessons learned from US military reconstruction and development operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Kenya, Liberia, and Uganda. Two of the more prominent lessons are 1) perform comprehensive planning and 2) continuously coordinate with host nation partners.
