This paper discusses the challenges facing the coalition between India's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU) following the 2014 Jharkhand state elections. The author argues that although being rich in natural resources, Jharkhand is also known for political instability, poor governance and corruption. He then contends that with the BJP in power, the state could experience a stable government and give confidence to investors and encourage them to partner in the development of the state.
