This paper discusses the January 2015 decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to open a preliminary examination of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and whether war crimes have been committed in the Palestinian territories. The author also addresses how Israel should respond to the decision, suggesting that it should respond in a way that minimizes the potential damage such an examination could cause.
