This brief explores some of the economic and political reasons behind the sudden drop in oil prices seen in the latter half of 2014. The author then discusses the strategic implications continuing low oil prices could have on Iran's worsening relations with Saudi Arabia and Tehran's talks with the P5+1 countries over its nuclear program.
