This analysis discusses a campaign by Arab Christians in Israel that encourages volunteer service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and how it is informed by developments in Israel and the Middle East. The author also looks at why the campaign is getting support from the Israeli ultra-nationalist right. He argues that by lending their support, the Israeli right thinks it can weaken the increasingly vocal Israeli Arab opposition and win the favor of Christians in the West.
