This paper examines the potential impact of the so-called Islamic State (IS) on Asia. The author argues that there is cause for concern, it is not yet clear that any part of the continent will become a “second front” in the fight against IS. He also contends that Asian governments must maintain vigilance concerning the return of foreign fighters with their potential to provide organizational support and technical skills to local extremist groups.
