This Insight examines the concept of 'nuclear latency', or the potential ability of countries to build nuclear weapons, and how it specifically relates to South Korea and Japan. In addition to arguing that we collectively need a more sophisticated definition of latency (it's a combination of technology and political will), the text also discusses how Australia can continue to support the global nuclear non-proliferation agenda.
