Following the death of Lee Kuan Yew - who was the Prime Minister of Singapore between 1959 and 1990 - in March 2015, this commentary examines the role the former Prime Minister played in influencing relations between his country and the US. The author also discusses Lee Kuan Yew's perspective and criticism of American society as well as how policymakers in Washington view him.
