This paper explores Turkey’s foreign policy towards Russia, to include how those affiliated with the dominant Justice and Development Party (AKP) have framed the relationship between both countries. More specifically, the paper considers 1) how Turkey’s new, friendlier and more proactive foreign policy with Russia is affecting Ankara's relations with the West in general and the EU in particular; 2) where Turkish and Russian policies converge (economics) and diverge; and 3) what are the future prospects of this bilateral relationship.
