This paper discusses the economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU in the wake of the Kremlin's intervention in Crimea in March 2014, as well as their intended and unintended impact. She also provides a set of recommendations for the EU on how it can move forwards more effectively with its sanctions program against Russia.
