Publication

This paper discusses the background to the 2013/2014 Maidan protests in Ukraine and how the violence of the protests and the outbreak of a separatist conflict in the Donbass region of the country have impacted Ukrainian society as a whole. The author also discusses the importance of taking social changes - such as those prompted by the protests and the separatist movement - into consideration when discussing the issues of identity and social cohesion in Ukraine.
