This report looks at some of the maritime policy challenges and opportunities arising across the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific in the 21st century. Among other topics, it discusses 1) US maritime security relations and partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region; 2) the perspectives and priorities of island states in the region; 3) the changing balance of power in the Indian Ocean; and 4) energy exploration, exploitation, and exports in the Indo-Pacific region.
