This report focuses on women peacebuilders in Sudan, Congo and Uganda, and assesses their success in challenging the dominance of militarized situations. In spite of their progress in creating safe forums to discuss taboo subjects, the authors point out that women still remain marginalized in formal peace processes and post-conflict governments. The report specifies the scale of discrimination and violence against women in armed conflicts as well as impunity in the aftermath as the first obstacles to expanding peacebuilding work. It further emphasizes the necessity of giving women proper resources in order to strengthen their position.
