This paper examines how sports, in particular soccer, played a key role in the nation-building efforts of Israel and Palestine. The author traces the history of organized soccer in Israel and Palestine and sheds light on how soccer clubs served as a platform for the development of a national identity among both Israelis and Palestinians.
