Following the death of former prime minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew in March 2015, this commentary examines the impact the leader had on his country’s relations with Malaysia. The author also discusses the how Lee Kuan Yew’s legacy will continue to have an effect on the ties between the two countries, arguing that his insights on the shared geography, history, culture, and the regional and geopolitical contexts for both states will endure for many years to come.
