This commentary discusses the reasons for the effectiveness of the recruitment activities of the so-called Islamic State (IS), especially on the Internet. The author also examines how to undermine the recruitment activities of the IS, with a particular focus on what Southeast Asian countries can do to combat against the draw of the group.
