This paper discusses some of the main points of contention in the negotiations over the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement as well as how the TPP would affect the regulation of trade between countries party to it. The author then goes on to explain why successfully concluding the TPP would be very significant for the United States for both commercial and foreign policy reasons.
