This commentary discusses the challenges ASEAN faces in finding a resolution to the territorial disputes between China and some of the organization’s members states regarding the South China Sea. The author also examines some of the steps which he believes ASEAN could take to better resist Beijing’s increasingly assertive territorial claims.
