This commentary puts forward four proposals for how the Nepalese government could strengthen Nepal's governance and economy in the wake of the earthquakes which hit the country in April 2015. These include 1) setting up monitoring systems to increase accountability for public funds; 2) introducing a house and infrastructure rebuilding program; 3) increasing national employment possibilities; and 4) positioning Nepal as a “land link” between India and China in order to increase the country's importance and accelerate its development.
