This article discusses the ways in which China's political leadership is harnessing the country's financial resources in order to establish economic and political regional supremacy. The author first mentions the two international banks - the New Development Bank (NDB) and Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) - that China pushed for before looking at the country's most ambitious project, the “Belt and Road Initiative”, which aims to increase land and maritime transportation and trade throughout Eurasia and Southeast Asia. The paper concludes by considering how Beijing's economic ambitions may affect for Israel.
