This paper examines the role of multinational corporations (MNCs) as an element of international security and development in war-torn societies. The author assesses the impact of MNCs in the specific case of Sudan. The paper discusses the Sudanese activities of western MNCs and evaluates the structure of the oil industry and its impact on national and foreign policy in Sudan.
