Following the arrest of two Singaporean teenagers for terrorism-related activities in May 2015, this paper discusses the threat posed by the radicalization of young people by Islamic fundamentalist groups such as the so-called Islamic State (IS). While the authors focus on the Singaporean youth, they note that (Islamic) radicalization and the increased interest in terrorism among young people is also on the rise in other countries. They then give some recommendations on how to counter this threat, particularly on the Internet, and stress the important role community engagement plays in these efforts .
