This brief provides an overview of the main topics discussed at a bilateral meeting between India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and Chinese President Xi Jinping in May 2015. Among other topics, the two leaders discussed 1) how they could improve their diplomatic dialogue to better diffuse any flare-ups of conflict along their disputed border; 2) Chinese recognition of India as a "major power", and 3) further cooperation between the two countries on climate change issues and the civil nuclear sector.
