This report explores both the nature and scope of jihadist radicalization in Australia and what its government can do to blunt the phenomenon. As part of their discussion, the report's authors explore 1) the growing role of Western ‘foreign fighters’ in the Middle East, 2) the effects of Islamic radicalization on individual Australians, and 3) Canberra’s anti-radicalization policy responses thus far. The report closes with nine recommendations on what the Australian government should do to strengthen its responses against terrorists and Gen Y extremist jihadists.
