This paper reflects on the implications of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh in July 2015 in order to improve economic relations between the two countries. The author discusses some of the agreements that were reached during this visit, including the setting up two Special Economic Zones in Bangladesh, and points out that these agreements should also prove beneficial for New Delhi’s links with Southeast Asia because of the anticipated reductions in trade costs.
