This report investigates the impact of EU enlargement on the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). The author assesses the challenges and opportunities resulting from the addition of 10 new member states to the process of EU security policymaking. The report advocates the continued development of integrated EU civilian and military capabilities, and methods for advanced crisis management.
