This paper discusses the EU-CARIFORUM Economic Partnership Agreement - a free trade agreement signed in 2007 by the EU and fifteen Caribbean states - as well as whether it could serve as a model for future agreements between unequal trading partners. More specifically, the authors review whether the agreement achieved its goals of liberalizing trade, addressing environment concerns, as well as furthering economic growth, poverty reduction and closer regional integration in the Caribbean.
