This paper looks at the political crisis unfolding in Malaysia after allegations were made that Prime Minister Razak had been using the funds of a state-owned company for his own enrichment. The author argues that even though this is an unprecedented crisis for the ruling coalition, the opposition is grappling with its own survival. This, he concludes, makes the political scene in Malaysia unpredictable three years away from the next national election in 2018.
