This issue of the CCTA features articles on the terrorist threats facing India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Central Asia. In particular, the articles examine 1) the preparedness of India’s security agencies to deal with lone wolf terrorist incidents; 2) how distinct linguistic, cultural and geographical factors have shielded Muslims in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu from the influence of jihadist ideology; 3) the increased threat of Islamic militancy in Bangladesh; 4) the defects of the decapitation strategy adopted by the US and Pakistan against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP); 5) the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan’s (IMU) pledge to support ISIS and the implications it may have for the Afghan Taliban; and 6) the increasing involvement of Central Asian militants in the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Iraq.
