This fact sheet provides a statistical portrait of international arms transfers from 2010 to 2014. Some of the key trends identified by the authors show that 1) the volume of major weapons transfers was 16 percent higher in 2010-2014 than in 2005-2009; 2) the five biggest exporters in 2010-2014 were the US, Russia, China, German and France; 3) the total number of exports from EU states for 2010-2014 were 16 percent lower than in 2005-2009; 4) the five biggest importers for 2010-2014 were India, Saudi Arabia, China, the UAE and Pakistan; and 5) arms imports by states in Africa increased by 45 percent, Asia and Oceania by 37 percent, the Middle East by 25 percent and the Americas by 7 percent.
