This commentary looks at China's military modernization and the effect it could have on the ability of the US to project power in the Asia Pacific. The author also provides examples of how the US has begun to signal its intention to prevent China from disrupting the security of the Asia-Pacific region and in turn how Beijing is responding to Washington's moves.
