Ahead of the UN Climate Conference in December 2015, this compilation of article looks at some of facts and opinions on environmental issues coming out of China. Among other things, the articles look at 1) the meaning of the joint US-China announcement on climate change management made by the leaders of the two countries in November 2014; 2) efforts made by the Chinese government in the form of climate and environmental policy to address and mitigate climate change as well as the challenges that these face (eg. the irresponsibility of local administrations which are often led by motivations other than justice or environmental preservation); and 4) the role civil society and the Chinese legal system have in enforcing environmental law in the country.
