This commentary examines the success of Katibah Nusantara (KN), which is a Southeast Asian unit that's fighting for the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Syria. The text’s author also considers KN's links with pro-IS groups in Indonesia and the wider threat it poses to the rest of Southeast Asia.
