This commentary assesses the terrorist attacks which were conducted on 13 November 2015 in Paris, France. More specifically, the text's author contemplates 1) the problem of French jihadists returning home after receiving paramilitary training in countries such as Syria and Libya, and 2) the similarity of the recent attacks not only with those conducted in Mumbai (2008), but also with the modus operandi of Salafi-jihadi groups such as IS and al-Qaeda.
