This commentary explains the modern Salafi concept of Al-Wala‘ wal Bara‘ and the challenges it poses, particularly in those areas where Muslims are a minority community. The text's author further describes the four dimensions of the concept (creedal, social, political and jihad) and argues that practicing the modern Salafist’s version of it could indeed fuel greater intolerance between different ethnic and religious groups.
